The 2015 EBC Graduate School Retreat
Following the tradition, we will celebrate our yearly retreat at Odalgården, a venue at a nice little lake 20 km east of Uppsala on the 23rd – 24th of April. Leonie Moyle from Indiana University kindly offered to join us as plenary speaker and scientific advisor. There will be a number of research presentations by students of the research school and we will be joined by a small group more senior researchers sharing their experiences with you.
Practicalities
We check in at Odalgården in the morning, Thursday 23rd of April and Leonie will then open the retreat with a plenary talk. The rest of day will be devoted to research presentations by students, followed by dinner and a pub. On Thursday 27th we will continue the research presentations (interspersed with coffee and lunch) until the late afternoon/evening, when we leave for Uppsala. Transport to and from Odalgården will be by coach from EBC. Specific information will be sent out in time.
For those of you giving talks
Student talks are scheduled for 15 min, 10 minutes for the talk, 5 minutes remaining for questions. This is good practice and a great opportunity to discuss your research in a relaxed atmosphere. The best talk wins a book price.
Participation
Please notify me no later than March if you are attending or not. Also let me know if you have any special dietary requirements. I sent around a doodle link serving this purpose.
