Six research leaders at Uppsala University initiated the Uppsala Centre of Evolution and Genomics (UCEG). The Centre was formally established in 2008, when we were awarded a prestigious 10-year Linnaeus grant from the Swedish Research Councils VR and FORMAS. We have joined forces to bring together world-class expertise in evolutionary genomics, comparative morphology, molecular evolution, evolutionary ecology and systematics. Our major aim is to play a world-leading role in using genomic methods to integrate traditionally separated fields of biology and thereby achieve new synergetic and innovative research.
